Trompe l'Oeil Mural
Egyptian Ruins
The theme was ancient Egyptian ruins, and this trompe l'oeil mural was installed in room of which the collection of Egyptian antiquities was displayed. The owner is an antique collector and he wants his artifacts collection to be displayed with an aura of a trompe l'oeil painting that gives the mode and styles of the dry scenery of the desert. The wall has a door and was located in the left bigger column and was hidden because of its trompe l'oeil effect. Making the layout of this design was simplified into six elements, the client choose the the gigantic statue of King Rameses II, the great pyramid in the middle of the horizon, the wall and column adorned with Egyptian sculptures and hieroglyphics, the sphinx facing the pyramid, columns adored with statues of mummies and steps pointing the direction towards the pyramid. By designing with these elements we have created a door and view, as if you were invited to step down to the scenery.
